Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Dedicated Driver for a Northern Cape wholesale distributor serving the retail sector. The role involves transporting goods to client locations around Upington with a hybrid setup that includes on-road driving and remote route planning or administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate has at least 4 years of professional driving, a Code 10/14 license with PrDP, a clean driving record, and strong knowledge of the Upington road network.

Qualifications

• Valid Code 10 (C1) or Code 14 (EC) with PrDP.
• Minimum 4 years of professional driving experience, 2+ years goods transport.
• Clean driving record with no major infringements.
• Good knowledge of Upington road network and surrounding towns.
• Able to perform loading/unloading and physical tasks.
• Strong organizational skills and reliability.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable using mobile apps for route planning and updates.
• Hybrid work schedule with remote coordination when needed.

Responsibilities

• Transport goods to retail stores in and around Upington, Northern Cape.
• Safely load and unload merchandise and maintain vehicle condition.
• Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations and policies.
• Plan daily delivery routes to meet customer schedules.
• Maintain delivery records and proof of delivery.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Provide professional service to retail clients.
• Communicate with dispatch and management, including remote check-ins.
• Address delivery issues promptly and professionally.
• Keep the vehicle clean and presentable.
