Job summary

Benesch in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Roadway Transportation Project Manager to join our Transportation team in Franklin or Nashville. You will lead the planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects, manage client relationships, and guide multidisciplinary teams through project delivery.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in roadway/transportation engineering, a P.E., and proven business development and leadership capabilities. Hybrid work with strong client focus and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in roadway/transportation engineering and project delivery.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
• Experience managing roadway projects from planning through final delivery.
• Strong knowledge of roadway design principles and standards.
• Experience with TDOT projects and standards preferred.
• Experience with roadway design software such as OpenRoads Designer or MicroStation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage scope, schedules, budgets and resources.
• Strong client relationship management and communication skills.
• Interest or experience in business development and pursuit strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and delivery of roadway and transportation projects.
• Serve as primary client contact, building relationships and ensuring successful delivery.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, quality, and financial performance.
• Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, designers, and subconsultants.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight for roadway design and projects.
• Develop and review roadway plans, specs, estimates, and reports.
• Apply TDOT, AASHTO, FHWA standards to project development.
• Identify risks, develop solutions, and address issues affecting scope or budget.
• Lead client meetings, presentations, and coordination meetings.
• Support proposals, scopes of work, fee development, and business development.
• Mentor engineers and designers; collaborate with other offices on integrated solutions.
