22nd Century Technologies, Inc. (TSCTI) is seeking an Insurance Risk & Claims Analyst to support the State’s Risk Management function, assisting with insurance claims, TPA coordination, vendor insurance requirements, premium billing, policy administration, and agency support.

The successful candidate will develop a strong understanding of the State’s insurance portfolio and serve as a knowledgeable resource to internal agencies, management, brokers, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance, claims, risk management, or a closely related field preferred.
  • Familiarity with commercial insurance policies, claims processes, and insurance administration.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly with financial records and policy information.
  • Ability to understand procedures, apply guidelines, and work within authority limits.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day claims activities with the State’s third-party administrator, including approvals, denials, settlements, releases, and documentation within authority levels.
  • Review claims that exceed delegated authority and prepare documentation for management review and approval.
  • Track claim activity, service levels, outstanding matters, and trends; provide updates to Risk Management leadership.
  • Process and monitor insurance premiums, invoices, payments, reconciliations, and internal cost allocations.
  • Develop working knowledge of the State’s insurance programs across property, auto, medical malpractice, and other lines.
  • Explain applicable insurance coverage and requirements to agency personnel and assist with questions.
  • Review vendor RFPs, contracts, and scopes to determine insurance requirements.
  • Assist in improving procedures, documentation, and workflows related to insurance and risk management.
  • Act as a primary contact for agencies regarding routine claims, insurance requirements, and billing questions.
  • Coordinate with insurance brokers and monitor policy renewals and related communications.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical records for claims, policies, invoices, and payments.
  • Monitor and respond to requests via Risk Management shared inbox.
  • Assist with annual insurance renewals by collecting exposure data and underwriting information.
  • Support special projects and initiatives from the Head of Risk Management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

** Position Summary:**

  • We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Insurance Risk & Claims Analyst to support the State’s Risk Management function. This position will assist with insurance claims, third-party administrator (TPA) coordination, vendor insurance requirements, premium billing, policy administration, and agency support.

** Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist in improving procedures, documentation, and workflows related to insurance and risk-management activities.

  • Support special projects and strategic initiatives assigned by the Head of Risk Management.

** Required Qualifications:**

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance, claims, risk management, or a closely related field preferred.
