OCLC Research is seeking an associate research scientist to join a growing team dedicated to helping libraries navigate technology transformation and changing institutional landscapes. You will work with qualitative, quantitative, and technical projects, using large datasets and interviews to design studies from the ground up, then share insights via blogs, reports, and webinars.

You will collaborate across methods, apply knowledge of library work, and adapt to skills as projects require,

Competenze

• Master's degree in LIS, social science, data science, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience across the research lifecycle from ideation to completion.
• Comfort with at least one area of research methods (qualitative, quantitative, or technical).
• Clear writing and communication skills for a library audience.
• Ability to work on-site in Dublin, Ohio, three days a week.

Mansioni

• Contribute to research projects across the full lifecycle, from framing questions to communicating results.
• Work with qualitative and quantitative methods as needed by the project.
• Utilize generative AI tools to assist and augment the research process.
• Analyze datasets using Python, R, or statistical tools, collaborating on data access and quality.
• Build knowledge of library cataloging systems, metadata standards, and library work.
• Explore how linked data and AI-enabled discovery reshape metadata and workflows.
• Co-author blog posts, reports, and briefs for library audiences.
• Represent OCLC in webinars and external communications.
• Introduce new tools and methods to the team as skills grow.
