Job description

We are looking for a Research Librarian who can provide high-level library technical and research services to internal clients across the client organization.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct literature reviews, market scans, and legal research; compile, organize, synthesize, evaluate, analyze, and interpret research results
• Monitor and respond to "Ask a Librarian" email information requests and provide in-person reference service in the physical library
• Support the operations and administration of the organization’s internal Knowledge Management system and other research databases
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex connectivity issues: user support, authentication, database and e-journal changes, subscription platform changes, network, and IP issues
• Assist in building, authoring, and designing library web pages
• Support the development of new library programming, products, and services
• Manage and serve as a point of contact for assigned databases and subscription and contract renewals
• Assist in giving library overview and instruction sessions, creating user guides, videos, and tutorials as needed
• Support the maintenance of the current library chatbot and the implementation of new versions
• Create, develop, and maintain library resource guides (using LibGuides)
• Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science (ALA accredited)
• 3+ years of experience
• Expertise in legal research (a plus)
• Expertise in searching the Web and commercial database services such as Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, EBSCOhost, and Factiva
• Expertise in using SharePoint (Modern – for web authoring), Knowledge Management systems, Integrated Library Systems (ILS), Chatbot, graphic design tools (Canva), and MS Suite of tools
• Knowledge of emerging technologies including Gen AI
• Ability to synthesize and provide actionable information on research findings
• Ability to work independently, within a collaborative structure, and in a high-production environment
• Ability to prioritize, adapt to new procedures, and work well under short deadlines
• Excellent analytical, project management, and organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
