Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham Radiology Office is seeking a Researcher Associate to join their team, contributing to radioisotope production and PET research.

This intermediate role involves designing experiments, data interpretation, collaboration with senior researchers, and mentoring junior staff while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Hybrid Eligible, Day/1st Shift.

Qualifications

• Education requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an Associate's degree with two years related experience, or a high school diploma with four years related experience.
• Hybrid work arrangement and day/1st shift may apply.
• Willing to operate cyclotron and support radiochemistry tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate the cyclotron and related systems for routine radioisotope production.
• Assist in maintenance of the cyclotron under supervision.
• Assist in radiosynthesis of novel radiotracers.
• Follow site SOPs for the facility and radiation safety protocols.
• Support daily production of PET isotopes and cyclotron operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
