Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics or mathematics.
• MBA or CFA preferred.
• Typically 12+ years in banking, capital markets or financial services.
• 8+ years in capital planning, liquidity risk and investment management.
• Experience communicating risk to regulators and boards.
• Experience presenting to execs, risk committees and the Board.

Responsibilities

• Own the second line oversight program for capital markets risk, including the annual oversight plan and methodologies.
• Direct the independent evaluation of funds management and liquidity risk processes.
• Provide credible challenge to first line assumptions on deposits, rate risk and hedging.
• Assess investment portfolio risk, counterparty exposures and foreign exchange risk.
• Oversee exposure limits, KRI and control design, escalate breaches when needed.
• Serve as the second line voice on committees and sponsor new risk groups.
• Partner with Treasury while preserving independence of the second line's conclusions.
• Coordinate with Internal Audit and Compliance to close coverage gaps and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Serve as second line contact for examiners on capital markets matters and manage remediation.
