Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, operations, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in transportation logistics.
• Experience supporting full truckload, less-than-truckload, expedited, refrigerated, Protect-from-Freezing, or small-package transportation.
• Experience with a managed transportation provider, TMS platform, or outsourced carrier network preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive exceptions and changing operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills with trend identification.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills to influence outcomes across teams and partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP, order-management, shipment-visibility systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inbound and outbound shipments across modes including truckload, LTL, expedited, temperature-sensitive, and small-package services.
• Review planning and tendering outcomes to identify rejections, uncovered loads, missed pickups, and risks requiring intervention.
• Coordinate with the TMS Provider and internal stakeholders to resolve shipment exceptions with accurate data.
• Proactively monitor pickup, transit, appointment, and delivery performance to flag potential service failures.
• Coordinate expediting, rescue, recovery, or rebooking of shipments affected by capacity or weather issues.
• Communicate status updates, risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders; escalate significant issues when needed.
• Identify and coordinate customer-site delivery requirements such as liftgates, pallet jacks, and accessorial needs.
• Work with the TMS Provider to confirm services/equipment can be supported by the carrier network and lanes.
• Monitor spot-market shipments and evaluate capacity, service, timing, and cost with the TMS Provider.
• Support expedited or nonstandard transport requests by evaluating requirements with stakeholders.
• Serve as day-to-day operational contact for the TMS Provider and communicate priorities and risks.
• Document recurring concerns and provide analysis and recommendations to leadership; carrier contracting remains with the TMS Provider.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Warehousing, and Supply Chain on order readiness, loading, and special handling.
• Support new customer and lane implementations by confirming service coverage and lead times with the TMS Provider.
• Analyze shipment exceptions and trends to improve system rules, inputs, and cost efficiency.
• Identify and reduce avoidable spot costs and accessorial charges.
• Lead or support root-cause analysis and maintenance of SOPs, tools, and training materials.
• Ensure shipment instructions, equipment needs, temperatures, and delivery restrictions are documented for the TMS Provider.
• Escalate safety incidents, damaged freight, temperature excursions, or compliance concerns immediately.
