Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s preferred.
• 3–5 years of transportation logistics experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience in bulk liquid transportation, tank-truck operations, chemical manufacturing, construction chemicals, or concrete admixtures preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive shipments and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong planning, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication; ability to build relationships across teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/telemetry/shipment-tracking tools preferred.
• Familiarity with cost drivers, carrier performance, and safety/regulatory requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule outbound bulk shipments based on customer requirements, inventory and production availability, and carrier capacity.
• Review orders, forecasts, delivery dates, inventory levels, and telemetry to develop daily and forward-looking transportation plans.
• Assign shipments to improve routing, utilization, and transportation costs while meeting commitments.
• Manage shipments from planning through loading, transit, delivery, and completion in relevant systems.
• Monitor carrier acceptance, capacity, equipment positioning, and delivery performance; communicate issues and recovery plans.
• Coordinate equipment availability (tank trailers, tractors, drivers) within the region.
• Work with carriers and internal teams to anticipate capacity and asset needs based on forecasts and seasonal demand.
• Identify shortages, imbalances, idle assets, and underutilized capacity; recommend scheduling or repositioning actions.
• Serve as primary day-to-day contact for assigned bulk carriers; communicate forecasted needs and schedule changes.
• Address routine carrier issues and document recurring capacity or service gaps for escalation and improvement.
• Partner with Customer Support, Sales, Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to understand priorities and constraints.
• Optimize shipment planning to reduce empty miles, minimize premium freight, and avoidable costs.
• Suggest improvements to transportation systems, scheduling practices, and cross-functional workflows.
• Ensure carriers receive accurate product and handling instructions.
• Escalate safety incidents, spills, or compliance concerns promptly.
