Job summary

Priority Power is seeking a Manager, Project Development – Thermal Generation to lead the development of a pipeline of natural gas-fired power projects across Texas. Hybrid work in Arlington, Midland, or Houston with ~25% travel to other offices and sites.

You will manage permitting, interconnection, budgets, schedules, and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, construction, and external partners to move projects from concept through construction handoff.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of project development/PM in utility-scale power generation.
  • BS in Engineering, electrical/mechanical preferred or demonstrated thermal generation expertise.
  • PE license preferred or ability to obtain.
  • Strong knowledge of gas-fired generation and ERCOT/ISOs.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior leadership with thermal generation expertise to advance gas-fired projects.
  • Develop conceptual thermal generation service plans and heat balance diagrams.
  • Develop and manage project development schedules and budgets.
  • Lead project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage contract obligations in key project documents.
  • Lead air quality and environmental permitting (TCEQ EPA) for thermal projects.
  • Coordinate delivery of site and environmental studies (Phase I/II, noise, modeling).
  • Lead interconnection process for dispatchable generation (Interconnection Application through Agreements).
  • Collaborate with engineers on turbine/engine selection and balance-of-plant design.
  • Work with construction management on contractor selection and permitting.
  • Handoff projects to construction after full development and permitting.
  • Support business development reporting with data and analyses.
