Job summary

Atlanta Legal Aid Society seeks a Litigation Paralegal for the Fulton County Office, located in Downtown Atlanta. The role supports attorneys in a range of civil matters, including family, housing, public benefits, and education, with emphasis on tenant protections and community outreach.

You will handle intake, data entry, document prep, and case deadlines while coordinating with staff attorneys, interns, and volunteers in a mission-driven environment. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience with case intake and client interviews.
• Ability to manage case information and data entry.
• Experience supporting grants or reporting processes.
• Strong communication with clients under attorney supervision.

Responsibilities

• Case intake and management, including client interviews and presenting cases to staff attorneys.
• Data management, including entering case information into the client database and retrieving data.
• Organize data required for grants and assist in preparation of periodic reports.
• File management, including scanning documents, drafting letters, and archiving cases.
• Client management, including providing information and advice under attorney supervision.
• Assist attorneys with case investigation, document preparation, and trial binders.
• Track deadlines, maintain case calendars, and assist with filing in court or agencies.
• Provide translation or interpretation support, if qualified.
• Conduct factual and limited legal research under direction.
• Oversee service of process and prepare case reports.
• Refer callers and visitors to appropriate agencies and resources.
• Unit management including intake/outreach schedules and training.
• Draft client stories and perform general administrative tasks.
• Other tasks as assigned.
