Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Case intake and management, including client interviews and presenting cases to staff attorneys.
  • Data management, including entering case information into the client database and retrieving data.
  • Organize data required for grants and assist in preparation of periodic reports.
  • File management, including scanning documents, drafting letters, and archiving cases.
  • Client management, including providing information and advice under attorney supervision.
  • Assist attorneys with case investigation, document preparation, and trial binders.
  • Track deadlines, maintain case calendars, and assist with filing in court or agencies.
  • Provide translation or interpretation support, if qualified.
  • Conduct factual and limited legal research under direction.
  • Oversee service of process and prepare case reports.
  • Refer callers and visitors to appropriate agencies and resources.
  • Unit management including intake/outreach schedules and training.
  • Draft client stories and perform general administrative tasks.

The Fulton Office provides advice and representation to persons in Fulton County in a variety of legal matters including tenant protection, benefits (income and healthcare), consumer protection, public school education, and family law. The Fulton Office currently consists of a managing attorney, one senior staff attorney, three staff attorneys, three paralegals, and two receptionists. The unit also houses the Fulton County Justice Resource Center Family Law Clinic.

Responsibilities
  • Case intake and management, including answering the phone, conducting initial client intakes and interviews, gathering documentation, and presenting cases to the staff attorneys and at case acceptance meetings
  • Data management, including entering case information into Legal Aid’s client database and retrieving data from various sources
  • Organize data required for grants and assist in the preparation of periodic reports
  • File management, including scanning documents into the client database, digital organization, filing, drafting letters, assisting with document preparation, and archiving closed cases
  • Client management, including providing clients with information and advice under the strict supervision of an attorney
  • Assist attorneys with case investigation, document preparation, notarization, client communication, legal research, and organization, including trial binders
  • Track deadlines, maintain case calendars, and assist with filing in court or administrative agencies as required
  • Provide translation or interpretation support, if qualified
  • Conduct factual and limited legal research under an attorney’s direction
  • Oversee service of process and preparing case reports
  • Refer callers and visitors to appropriate agencies and resources as needed
  • Unit management including maintaining the monthly intake and outreach schedule, training of new staff, volunteers and interns on the case management system, maintaining volunteer contact information and case assignments, tracking and closing cases, providing litigation and non-litigation support to the attorney
  • Draft client stories
  • General administrative tasks
  • Other tasks as assigned
Salary And Benefits
  • This position offers a salary of $50,000, but may vary (up or down) depending on work experience. Salaries are reviewed annually and may be adjusted based on available funding
  • Generous fringe benefits, including 16 paid holidays in 2026, 6 weeks of paid time off (accruing at 2.5 days per month), and 6 weeks of parental leave (12 weeks after one year)
