Job summary

State Street Bank and Trust Company in Austin, TX seeks a Technical Lead to guide large, complex projects in derivatives and bank loans modernization. You will lead front-end and back-end development, collaborating with onshore and offshore teams to deliver scalable solutions.

You will own multi-threaded Java/J2EE backends, implement React/J2EE front ends, and drive CI/CD, Agile Epics, and roadmaps with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 7 years of solid hands‑on technology experience with Financial Industry and Complex Operations asset classes such as OTC derivatives and Bank Loans.
• 7 years designing multi-threaded backend applications for high-throughput processing.
• 7 years transforming legacy desktop‑based apps into cloud‑native web apps, reducing maintenance overhead.
• 7 years of experience with Java/J2EE.
• 5 years with UI frameworks like React JS, GWT.
• 5 years of experience with web services and JMS.
• 5 years with Oracle, PL/SQL, stored procedures.
• 5 years of DB optimization concepts for legacy modules.
• 5 years with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka to enable microservices.
• 5 years with Document Management Systems for scalable ingestion, secure storage, tagging, retrieval and archiving.

Responsibilities

• Lead development on large, complex projects in derivatives and bank loans modernization.
• Develop front-end solutions using React JS, GWT, and related frameworks.
• Develop and maintain middle-tier and back-end modules using Java, Spring web services, streaming, JMS, and databases.
• Coordinate with offshore teams and onshore stakeholders to ensure technical compatibility and delivery.
• Champion CI/CD and Agile development practices and translate business requirements into Epics and roadmaps.
