Job summary

The State of North Carolina's Department of Information Technology is seeking an Applications Systems Manager II (NS) to lead a diverse team overseeing enterprise applications, databases, cloud solutions, and GIS systems. This role provides strategic leadership and direction for technology services across about 1,700 employees in 11 divisions.

The position is Statutory Exempt (EHRA) and may be eligible for hybrid remote work with weekly onsite requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT related field and six years progressive experience including at least three years in supervisory capacity.
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field and seven years progressive experience including at least three years in supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Lead a multidisciplinary team overseeing enterprise applications, databases, cloud solutions, GIS technologies, records management, and IT project delivery.
Provide strategic leadership and technical direction for technology services supporting ~1,700 employees across 11 divisions.
Guide enterprise application, database, cloud, and collaboration platform strategy to support agency goals.
Drive digital transformation, cloud modernization, and application modernization initiatives across the department.
Establish technology governance, architecture standards, and operational priorities.
Advise executive leadership on technology investments, risks, and opportunities.
