Job summary

The Mutual Group is seeking a Commercial Casualty Claims Adjuster in Des Moines, IA to process claims thoroughly so that members can resume their life’s work. Hybrid or in-office schedule is expected within 30 miles of the home office, with training requiring some in-office days.

You will handle a broad range of casualty exposures and work with adjusters, vendors, and experts to settle claims fairly while controlling costs. Excellent communication and math skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years handling commercial liability claims.
• Knowledge of coverage, policy interpretation and liability.
• Ability to work independently in a home-based environment.
• Willingness to travel periodically.
• New York/Florida/Texas licenses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigates coverage and causes of loss on routine to complex claims.
• Negotiates settlements within policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Manages claim files with documentation and diary system.
• Supervises field examiners and vendor resources as needed.
• Prepares written correspondence and factual reports.
