Ruan is seeking a Work Comp Claims Adjuster for a hybrid role with on-site Des Moines campus and remote work mix. Candidates should have at least 1 year of Work Comp adjuster experience, with 3+ years preferred.

The role focuses 100% on workers' compensation claims, analyzing, investigating, evaluating, and resolving claims. Responsibilities include interviewing parties, coordinating with third-party administrators, negotiating settlements, and collaborating with legal counsel when needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Course(s) of Study: Business or related field; Associate in Claims designation preferred.
• Experience: 3–5 years preferred in workers' compensation claims.

Responsibilities

• Investigate workers' compensation; interview all parties and review records to determine damages.
• Oversee third party administrator for compliance with claim handling instructions.
• Recommend acceptance or denial of claims within authority.
• Negotiate settlements with claimants within authority.
• Collaborate with legal counsel on contested claims and provide supporting documentation.
• Maintain file documentation and reports including OSHA/DOT testing.
• Monitor claim reserves and recommend adjustments as needed.
• Pursue subrogation when appropriate.
• Perform other duties and special projects as required.
