Job summary

The Rural Health Enterprise seeks an Accounting Assistant to join a growing finance team in Washington. This is a full-time, hybrid/remote role with occasional travel within Washington State.

You will support accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintain accurate records, assist with audits, and help ensure timely payments while upholding internal controls.

Candidates should have 2+ years in accounting, proficiency with QuickBooks Online or Sage 50, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks Online and/or Sage 50.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, reconciliations, and data organization.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare and process weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and online bill pay.
• Maintain vendor records and payment terms.
• Monitor and follow up on invoice due dates and discrepancies.
• Assist with 1099 preparation and year-end reporting.
• Generate and email customer invoices as needed.
• Match and post customer payments (checks and ACH).
• Monitor AR aging reports and communicate with customers on balances.
• Support payroll processing as needed and assist with audits and financial reports.
