Job summary

Xcel Energy in Denver is seeking a senior leader to shape the strategic direction of Regional Transmission Planning, aligning with operational and financial goals. You will develop policy direction, represent Xcel on external committees, and coordinate with Energy Markets, Settlements, and Regulatory teams to advance transmission policy and system reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum BA/BS in engineering, business, economics, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years progressive operations and regulatory experience in the electric energy industry, including at least 4 years with Regional Transmission or Reliability Organizations.
• Strong business acumen and urgency; proactive collaboration with utility executives and regulators.
• Ability to identify opportunities with Regional Transmission Planning and knowledge of tariff administration.

Responsibilities

• Identify impacts of Regional Transmission Planning initiatives on transmission and corporate positions.
• Develop and coordinate transmission strategy supported by senior management for Transmission, Energy Markets, and Regulatory.
• Provide timely Regional Transmission Planning information to business units to ensure corporate alignment.
• Prepare and review internal and external reports, comments, and briefing materials on transmission policy matters.
• Interact with regulators and stakeholders to pursue results that support corporate goals.
