Job summary

Vanderbilt Mortgage and Finance, Inc. is seeking a Recovery Specialist (Non-LO-Servicing) to manage a national portfolio of VMF originated and serviced loans.

Hybrid work arrangement, 4 days in office, 1 day remote, and a focus on collecting deficiency balances post charge-off, foreclosure, or repossession. You will review servicing history, communicate with borrowers, negotiate repayment plans, assist with 1099C timing, and support legal actions when needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-2 years related experience in credit or collections preferred.
• Strong communication skills via phone, email, and in person.
• Basic computer skills and ability to type at least 25 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Review servicing history to determine best method to collect deficiency balances.
• Discuss financial obligations with borrowers and negotiate repayment plans.
• Process and validate data in the system and assist with 1099C timing.
• Support legal actions and monitor monetary judgments and settlements.
• Assist in resolving title chain, UCC filings, and lien issues as needed.
