Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking an E-Trading Java Developer for a hybrid 18-month W-2 contract in New York City/Jersey City. The role focuses on designing and delivering a high-performance real-time trading platform, integrating with market venues and modern DevOps practices.

You will collaborate with traders, quants, and engineers to extend the platform and ensure low-latency, scalable order execution and RFQ negotiation capabilities.

Qualifications

• Five to seven years hands-on Core Java experience.
• Experience in a front-office role and interacting with traders.
• Experience with agile development and modern DevOps practices, including iterative delivery, CI/CD, continuous deployment, and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support a high-performance, real-time electronic trading platform.
• Work with engineers, quantitative analysts, and traders to modernize and extend the existing platform using current and new technology frameworks.
• Develop frameworks and core services for real-time order execution, auto-quoting, and RFQ negotiation.
• Contribute to platform modernization, expansion into global markets, connectivity to new trading venues, Central Risk Book algorithms that internalize trading flow, and platform stability improvements.
• Refactor existing code and improve system performance and design.
