Job summary

DLA Piper's New York office seeks an associate with 3-5 years of experience in general real estate transactions, including purchase and sale, joint venture and financing. We seek candidates with transferable skills and strong academic backgrounds from nationally recognized law schools as well as prior experience in a large or mid-sized law firm.

Experience in commercial leasing is highly preferred and this is a hybrid role with regular in-office presence and some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

• JD and admission to practice in NY state.
• 3–5 years of experience in general real estate transactions.
• Experience at a large or mid-sized law firm preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough research and analysis to support real estate transactions.
• Draft memos, contracts, and related legal documents.
• Assist/manage complex transactions from inception to closing.
• Maintain client relationships with timely updates and professional communication.
• Collaborate with lawyers and professionals to develop transaction strategies.
• Participate in client calls, meetings, and negotiations, supporting due diligence.
• Ensure compliance with laws and firm policies.
