Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Mobile Software Engineer to design and implement mobile applications with a focus on React Native. You will collaborate with UI/UX, product managers, and engineers to deliver feature-rich apps across devices, and maintain code quality through tests and ongoing performance improvements.

The role is hybrid, with expectations to report to Warren MI or Austin TX periodically. This position requires collaboration in a fast-paced environment and adherence to best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3 Years of experience in Mobile environment.
• Experience contributing to the successful delivery and deployment of software projects.
• Knowledge of software testing, quality assurance and solutions testing including automation.
• Knowledge of maintaining and debugging live software applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop mobile application using React Native framework.
• Develop APIs to support mobile functionality.
• Translating code into user-friendly applications and collaborating with internal teams.
• Remaining up to date with mobile development terminology and best practices.
• Writing unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions.
• Full lifecycle application development using standard design patterns/frameworks.
• Assists with performance tuning, usability assessment/improvement.
• Proactively identifying/remediation of software issues (code quality, security).
