Job summary

Harvard Business School (HBS) is seeking multiple Research Associates (General) starting Summer 2026 to support faculty on a range of business topics, including AI, the Future of Work, and U.S. competitiveness projects.

The role emphasizes independent research, data analysis, and producing case material and policy memos for broad business audiences. The position reports to faculty supervisors in the Research Staff Services office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with a GPA above 3.5 is required.
• Evidence of independent research and high-quality academic writing is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Work under the general direction of HBS faculty on topics central to HBS research agenda.
• Write cases, case supplements, project reports, and policy memos from start to finish.
• Develop, design, conduct, analyze, and implement research using data science knowledge and NLP.
• Manage and manipulate data using STATA, Python, R, or MATLAB.
• Ensure compliance with department, University, and federal regulations.
• Be able to take complex ideas and apply them to new projects with minimal direction.
• Build trust and collaborate by being on-site and engaging with colleagues.
