Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated testing solutions for P&C insurance systems. Lead testing efforts for complex features with Tosca, Playwright, and API testing; mentor juniors and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

The role emphasizes collaboration with analysts, developers, and product owners, plus strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of software testing experience, preferably in the P&C insurance domain.
• 3-5 years of test automation experience.
• Proficiency in Tosca and Playwright; Selenium/Cypress desirable.
• Proficiency in SQL for backend testing.
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman or REST Assured.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
• Strong Agile QA knowledge, test planning, and defect management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, maintainable automated test frameworks.
• Translate requirements into automated test strategies and plans.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, API, and accessibility testing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure test coverage and quality.
• Execute automated tests, log defects, and track to closure in Azure DevOps.
• Develop automated tests for APIs, UI, and backend systems.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and review test scripts.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Analyze test results and provide actionable insights.
• Maintain test documentation and knowledge sharing across QA teams.
