Wellabe in Des Moines, Iowa is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to advance our automation-first quality strategy across UI, API, and integrations within a hybrid- Des Moines environment.

You will design and maintain scalable automation frameworks, integrate testing into CI/CD with GitHub Actions, and mentor teammates while remaining hands-on in test development to improve release confidence.

Qualifications

• Expert-level experience with modern test automation tools and frameworks (Playwright, API automation tools).
• Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud-native environments.
• Proven experience designing/maintaining automation frameworks from scratch.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and continuous testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable automation frameworks across UI, API, integration, and regression testing.
• Perform functional, system integration, and regression testing of complex applications.
• Develop and execute automated tests using modern tools (Playwright) and AI automation solutions.
• Define test strategies for iterative Agile development and end-to-end testing prior to release.
• Lead test reviews and collaborate with developers to improve coverage and reliability.
• Develop and execute SQL queries for backend data validation.
• Create comprehensive test plans with timelines and environment planning.
• Establish QA standards and practices across teams.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) for fast feedback.
• Scale AI-driven testing solutions, including self-healing automation and analytics-driven testing.
