Job summary

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) is hiring Pulsed Power Engineers to advance electromagnetic diagnostic technologies for mission-critical experiments. You will design, test, and operate RF and optical diagnostics for high-power pulsed systems, including lasers, antennas, high-speed cameras, and data acquisition.

The role blends hands-on lab work with collaborative engineering across disciplines. Positions offer a hybrid schedule with some remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with pulsed power diagnostics and lab instrumentation.
• Knowledge of RF, optical, and electromagnetic concepts.
• Ability to obtain a DOE Q-level clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, calibrate, and operate optical and RF diagnostics for pulsed power experiments.
• Develop and evaluate diagnostic components using electrical, optical principles.
• Perform hands-on lab testing and data collection from high-power systems.
• Analyze data with signal and image processing methods.
• Integrate diagnostics into experimental systems with other engineers.
• Prepare schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports.
