Job summary

Civica Law Group in Irvine, CA is seeking an experienced paralegal to support our Civil Litigation team representing public agencies on issues including public safety, code enforcement, and local government. You will manage cases with litigation attorneys, prepare pleadings and discovery, organize documents, and communicate with courts and clients.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Paralegal certificate or degree in applicable paralegal studies.
• Strong ability to handle multiple tasks and roles at a given time.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Adaptable with solid organizational, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills and sound judgment.
• Interest in local government, public safety, or code enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with litigation attorneys to manage and support assigned cases.
• Calendar and monitor case deadlines, hearings, filings, and other important dates.
• Assist with preparing pleadings, discovery, motions, and other legal documents.
• Organize and summarize case documents, discovery, and relevant records.
• Conduct legal and factual research and assist attorneys with case preparation.
• Communicate with courts, opposing counsel, clients, vendors, and other parties as needed.
• Coordinate with court reporters, experts, and other outside professionals when needed.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and track case activity.
