Job summary

Crowe seeks an experienced Audit and Accounting Advisory Manager to lead high-impact engagements for public sector clients. You will manage engagements from planning through delivery, lead and develop teams, and advise on technical accounting matters, strengthening internal controls and navigating regulatory requirements.

This role combines technical accounting expertise with leadership and client advisory skills, helping public sector organizations improve operations and stakeholder services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• Experience leading public sector audits and advisory engagements.
• Experience with public sector, governmental, higher education, or other regulated organizations.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, Yellow Book, and/or Uniform Guidance.
• Experience managing engagement scope, budgets, resources, timelines, testing, and deliverables.
• Strong client relationships, communication, project management, and team leadership skills.
• CPA designation required.

Responsibilities

• Develop engagement plans and workpaper templates for client projects.
• Execute engagement work plans and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.
• Mentor and develop staff to support efficient project delivery.
• Set performance expectations for team members and provide constructive feedback regularly.
• Troubleshoot potential engagement issues (e.g., obtain additional documentation or clarification to support findings).
• Draft recommendations for a variety of engagements (e.g., audit findings, business process improvements, corrective action plans, value-add opportunities).
• Support development of client deliverables and presentations.
• Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and client relationship support.
