Job summary

The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) seeks an Electrical Engineer to support the Public Safety Communications (PSC) Microwave Engineering Division in Sacramento County.

The role involves assisting with design, installation, maintenance and operation of CAPSNET and related statewide telecommunications systems, reporting to senior engineers, and contributing to cost estimates and risk notifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with telecommunications or networking equipment is desirable.
• Ability to document and coordinate installation activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering leads in design, installation, maintenance and operation of statewide telecommunications systems.
• Develop technical reports and equipment selection criteria; provide project cost estimates for parts and labor.
• Notify supervisor of risks to budget, schedule, or scope; ensure services meet critical operational requirements.
