Job summary

Georgia Tech Library seeks an innovative Public Programming Librarian to enhance student engagement and connect the GT community with library resources, services, and spaces. Qualifications

  • Experience designing and delivering public programs for a university library and campus community.
  • Ability to foster engagement, partnerships, and collaboration across campus.
  • Strong understanding of outreach to students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver public programs (in-person, hybrid, and asynchronous) that connect the Georgia Tech community to library services, collections, and spaces.
  • Develop programming that highlights collections, showcases Georgia Tech research, and responds to evolving campus needs and student interests.
  • Organize and deliver programs and outreach initiatives that enhance student engagement, promote academic achievement, foster community, and support student success throughout the Georgia Tech experience.
  • Lead program logistics, including scheduling, space coordination, partner communication, and event execution.
  • Collaborate with library colleagues to align programming with outreach, instruction, and institutional priorities.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with campus units and external collaborators to co-develop programs and extend reach.
  • Assess program effectiveness using feedback and participation data to inform continuous improvement.
  • Develop workflows and documentation to support consistent delivery and clear communication.
  • Stay current with trends and implement innovative approaches to enhance engagement and advance library strategic goals.
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in emerging technologies relevant to their role, including artificial intelligence (AI).
  • Align use of emerging technologies with organizational policies, applicable laws, data privacy requirements, and professional standards.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • According to expectations for library faculty members, contribute professionally through research, scholarship, and creative activities.
  • Foster positive relations with faculty, students, and staff and promote the Institute and Library's commitment to the Georgia Tech values.
