Job summary

Harvard University Graduate School of Design seeks a Public Programs Coordinator to support planning, organization, and assessment of official public programs. The role manages on-site event staffing, budgeting, travel logistics, outreach, social media, and website updates in a hybrid environment.

The ideal candidate brings creative energy, strong communication, and meticulous attention to detail. Occasional evenings and weekends are required during the academic year.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience organizing or running events in academic or design contexts.
• Familiarity with academic communities and design/arts missions preferred.
• Strong computer skills; proficient with Mac, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary on-site event staffer; ensure events run on time and guests are cared for.
• Provide admin, technical, and logistical support for public programs and events.
• Track lecture expenses and assist with budgeting and financial paperwork.
• Maintain the GSD website, newsletters, and email communications; draft announcements.
• Support committees and advise student groups and partners on planning and policies.
