Job summary

Abacus Group in Red Bank, NJ seeks an experienced Auditor to join their hybrid office. The role oversees multiple audit and review engagements from planning through completion, coaches staff, and serves as liaison among Managers, Partners, Clients, and engagement teams.

You will direct all phases of engagements, examine ledgers for accuracy, prepare financial statements, participate in professional development, and assist with billing.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Public accounting experience required.
• Commercial industry experience required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and analytical.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple audit and review engagements from planning through completion.
• Coach and supervise engagement staff, providing training and performance feedback.
• Serve as the primary liaison among Managers, Partners, Clients, and engagement teams.
• Direct all phases of audit engagements, resolving legal, regulatory, and accounting issues as they arise.
• Examine general ledger accounts—scheduled and non-scheduled—to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and evaluate annual financial statements for audit, review, and compilation engagements.
• Conduct performance discussions with team members and guide professional growth.
• Support billing and collections processes to ensure timely and accurate client invoicing.
• Stay informed on new accounting pronouncements and emerging professional standards.
• Contribute to professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader.
