Job summary

Great American Risk Solutions, part of Great American Insurance Group, seeks a seasoned Claims Specialist to manage a nationwide portfolio of commercial casualty claims, including product and premises liability. Hybrid option for Cincinnati locals; fully remote for others with travel as needed.

The role emphasizes coverage analysis, litigation management, and sound claim resolutions within an industry-leading team. CPCU or related credentials are a plus for advancement.

Qualifications

• Generally, 8+ years of commercial casualty claims experience.
• Experience handling product liability and premises liability claims.
• Detailed coverage analysis experience is required.
• Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong written, verbal and listening skills.
• Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with coworkers.
• Must be open to travel, including overnight travel as needed.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and/or training.
• CPCU designation or other advanced insurance credentials is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Investigates, evaluates, and resolves liability claims of varying complexity and severity.
• Drafts coverage position letters with moderate supervision.
• Manages litigation; attends mediations, arbitrations, depositions, and trials as necessary.
• Sets reserves within prescribed authority and submits written recommendations for reserves outside authority.
• Demonstrates excellent judgment in the evaluation and handling of claims.
• Conveys complex information to all appropriate parties, maintaining a professional demeanor in all situations.
• Complies with applicable company procedures and policies, statutes, regulations, and other legal requirements governing claims handling.
• Responds to inquiries from underwriters and producers.
• Maintains necessary adjuster licenses, including completing required continuing education.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
