Worth Ross Management Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller of Property Accounting to lead our growing property accounting team.

This role oversees general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and compliance for multiple properties and clients. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, embraces automation and AI, and develops high-performing teams while delivering accurate financial reporting and exceptional client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience including leadership.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience leading multiple accounting functions and managing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all property accounting operations.
• Lead and develop managers and accounting teams across multiple functional areas.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end closings and client financial statements.
• Establish, monitor, and strengthen internal controls to safeguard client assets.
• Partner with executives to improve financial performance and client service.
• Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, and system access controls.
• Direct compliance activities related to client financial audits.
• Drive continuous process improvements, workflow automation, and technology initiatives.
• Champion AI and innovative accounting technologies to improve efficiency.
• Develop and monitor departmental KPIs and performance metrics.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and policies.
• Collaborate with vendors to enhance systems and processes.
