Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC in Louisville, KY is seeking a Project Surveyor to join the Survey/Geomatics team. You will perform land surveying tasks for transportation, boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction projects, while coordinating with project managers and clients to ensure timely and accurate results.

The role requires 2+ years in land surveying, proficiency with survey software and equipment, and the ability to work both in the office and in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of land surveying experience for project work.
• LSIT certification preferred, not required.
• Proficient with surveying equipment and software (e.g., MicroStation, ORD, Civil 3D, Leica, Trimble, Carlson).
• Familiar with local regulatory requirements and surveying principles.
• Strong communication and ability to collaborate with team.
• Ability to work in both office and field environments.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in land surveying activities for projects (transportation, boundary, topo, ALTA, construction).
• Conduct fieldwork and data collection using total stations, GPS, levels.
• Prepare and review survey drawings, maps, and reports for accuracy.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients for timely results.
• Assist with project documentation (permits, reports, calculations).
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal standards.
• Support senior surveyors in planning and execution.
• Participate in quality control for data accuracy.
• Contribute to efficiency and success of the survey team.
