Job summary

Mannik Smith Group in Louisville, KY is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our Survey/Geomatics team. This full-time role supports land surveying activities across transportation, boundary, topographic, ALTA and construction projects, with both office and field work.

You will operate field equipment, prepare drawings and reports, coordinate with project managers and clients, ensure regulatory compliance, and assist senior surveyors with planning and quality control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in land surveying with project focus.
• LSIT certification preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment and software (e.g., MicroStation, ORD, Civil 3D, Leica, Trimble, Carlson).
• Familiarity with surveying principles and local regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in land surveying activities for projects including transportation, boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction surveys.
• Conduct fieldwork, data collection, and equipment operation (total stations, GPS, levels).
• Prepare and review survey drawings, maps, and reports for accuracy.

• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal surveying standards and regulations.
• Provide support to senior surveyors in planning and execution.

• Proficiency with surveying equipment and software (e.g., MicroStation, ORD, Civil 3D, Leica, Trimble, Carlson).
• Familiarity with surveying principles and local regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members.
• Ability to work in both office and field environments.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
