Job summary

LMI in Tysons, VA, seeks a Mid-level Project Lead to support the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program for the DoW. Hybrid work with occasional client site visits in the Alexandria, VA area. Active SECRET clearance required, with the ability to obtain TOP SECRET.

The candidate will analyze industrial base health, capacity, and modernization needs for kinetic weapon systems, and coordinate with DoW and defense contractors to develop sustainment strategies.

Qualifications

• Active SECRET security clearance with ability to obtain TOP SECRET.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, defense studies, public policy, supply chain, or related field (master's preferred).
• 5+ years of DoW acquisition, industrial base analysis, logistics, or defense manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of OIB, arsenals, depots, and related facilities.
• Experience with kinetic weapons, munitions production, or weapon sustainment.
• Strong communication and analytical skills; able to brief senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Lead on kinetic capabilities organic industrial base (OIB) portfolio.
• Analyze health, capacity, and modernization needs of DoW OIB supporting kinetic weapon systems.
• Assess production capabilities, workforce readiness, and supply chain risks at government facilities.
• Develop strategies to strengthen surge capacity, resilience, and sustainment of kinetic capabilities.
• Support planning for production expansion, technology transition, and public‑private partnerships.
• Coordinate with DoW, military services, defense contractors, and other agencies.
• Prepare executive briefings, strategic assessments, and recommendations for senior leaders.
• Monitor risks related to critical materials and manufacturing capacity.
