Job summary

BKF Engineers in California seeks a Project Engineer with civil traffic and transportation design to support roadway, highway, and multimodal infrastructure projects. Based in San Jose, with hybrid or remote opportunities from Redwood City or Pleasanton for the right candidate.

You will work with experienced managers and multidisciplinary teams across offices, contributing to planning, design, and construction support, while growing your technical expertise and advancing your career.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in traffic/transportation engineering, focusing on roadway systems and multimodal corridors.
• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D; experience with SignCAD/AGI 32 or Synchro/SimTraffic is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate transportation infrastructure projects (roadways, corridors, roundabouts, curbs, retaining walls, overpasses, transit facilities, ADA curb ramps).
• Coordinate traffic engineering projects (signal design, pavement markings, signage, multimodal improvements).
• Prepare geometric design plans and profiles per Caltrans/local standards.
• Develop grading, drainage, and stormwater plans for transportation corridors.
• Design transportation-related utilities and coordinate with public agencies.
