Job summary

Wenger Corporation in Owatonna, MN is seeking a skilled accounting professional for a full-time hybrid role. You will partner with various departments to analyze, report, and close monthly financials.

The position requires a bachelor's in accounting or finance, at least three years of accounting experience, ERP/MRP exposure, and strong analytical and communication skills. Hybrid schedule: three days in the office and two days remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of related accounting experience.
• Cost systems background with understanding of accounting principles.
• Manufacturing experience/background preferably with a construction organization.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to plan, organize, multi-task and work independently.
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization.
• Positive, curious mindset promoting improvements in operating effectiveness.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Responsibilities

• Business partner with various areas to analyze, summarize and report financial performance.
• Participate in Executive Summary review to ensure accuracy of costing build up.
• Participate in monthly Cost to Complete (CTC) review meetings and adjust as needed.
• Investigate project variances and implement corrective actions/risk mitigation.
• Assist Project Management Team with budgeting, forecasting, and closing projects.
• Ensure risks such as commodity costs and labor rate variances are addressed in budgets.
• Support change orders and scope changes to ensure proper financial transactions.
• Coordinate with tax filing on sales/use tax accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain an accurate standard costing system and inventory reporting.
• Perform monthly closing activities with journal entries and reconciliations.
