Job summary

The Watkins Company in Winona, MN is seeking a Cost Accounting Assistant to join our team. This full-time role offers hybrid work capability (3 days in office, 2 days remote) and a robust benefits package.

The successful candidate will compile cost reports, calculate labor/material/time costs, and support monthly closings, inventory processes, and standard costs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or holding an associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 6 months or more in cost accounting, financial analysis, or general accounting.
• Intermediate MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Aggregate and compile cost reports showing total cost, selling prices, rates, profits, or other cost information.
• Calculate items such as labor, materials, and time costs and relate sales to costs.
• Prepare and review timekeeping, payroll records, and production sheets for data gathering.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for products; assist in monthly closing for COGS and variances.
• Support inventory reconciliation and perpetual ledger accuracy; assist internal customers with analyses.
