Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Project Controls Lead in Chicago to guide PMO project controls for transmission and distribution capital programs. This role combines leadership of cost, schedule, and analytics with collaboration across PMO, client management, and site personnel.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in capital projects, a relevant engineering degree, and hands-on experience with EVM, Excel, and PowerBI. Hybrid work arrangement with some travel may apply.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of total capital project experience in energy transmission and distribution.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent (ABET preferred).
• Experience with Earned Value Management and Project Controls methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead project teams and make budget/schedule decisions.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects with full control of project controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead all project controls functions within the PMO for transmission and distribution capital projects.
• Guide cost engineers, scheduling staff, and financial administrative staff.
• Collaborate with PMO team and interface with client management and site personnel.
• Develop, maintain, and improve project controls processes, procedures, and deliverables.
• Provide cost management, forecasting, scheduling, and reporting.
• Identify risks, track progress, and implement recovery plans; mentor staff; travel as needed.
