Job summary

The New York Times is seeking a Program Manager to help lead and evolve the foundational technology that powers how work gets done across the company. Enterprise Technology partners with leaders to enable our mission of independent journalism.

This hybrid role is based in New York City, reporting to the Senior Program Manager, Enterprise Technology. You’ll come into the office about 3 days per week and help drive complex projects end to end.

Qualifications

• 5+ years managing technical projects with multiple concurrent initiatives.
• Experience with Agile and Waterfall; Jira and PM tools.
• Proven ability to run large meetings and keep teams focused.
• Able to translate technical concepts for non-technical partners.
• Experience in a production facility or with industrial projects.
• Led organization-wide change management, communications and trainings.

Responsibilities

• Program Leadership: coordinate stakeholders and teams from initiation to closeout.
• Communication: run meetings, capture actions, and provide leadership updates.
• Deliverables: identify opportunities to influence outcomes and draft docs.
• Collaboration: build relationships across departments and advocate needs.
• Escalation: identify risks, inform stakeholders, and track resolution.
• Continuous Improvement: spot pain points and propose improvements.
• Analytics: create project metrics and estimate completion milestones.
• Demonstrate commitment to journalistic independence and NYT mission.
