Job summary

Aspen Institute in Washington, DC seeks a Program Associate, Communications to support the Stevens Initiative’s external communications and logistics. The role oversees major technology transitions, drafts press materials, and coordinates youth events while migrating to Salesforce Marketing Cloud and CRM+.

This is an 8-month, 32-hour/week position with in-person work at least 3 days a week. The candidate will collaborate with the CRG Comms team and report to the Assistant Director, Global

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional nonprofit communications, digital media, or program coordination.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with experience drafting press releases, web copy, social content, or diplomacy briefs.
• Proficiency in Canva, social media platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook), web CMS (WordPress), and email platforms (Constant Contact / Marketing Cloud).
• Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and managing contact data and migrations.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage time-sensitive deliverables across multiple workflows.
• Ability to tailor communications strategies for diverse audiences including funders, governments, and youth.

Responsibilities

• Draft press releases, program launch announcements, messaging frameworks, and one-pagers.
• Create social media content and multimedia elements to support social, web, email, events, and programming.
• Maintain monthly social calendars and publish posts across LinkedIn, X, and Facebook; send monthly newsletters.
• Update program web pages in coordination with external web developer to highlight partners and stories.
• Design ways to highlight impact through photos, storytelling, and campaigns in line with Stevens Initiative branding.
