Job summary

Georg Fischer Ltd. seeks a highly motivated Product Design Engineer in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to design and develop tools and equipment for plastic piping system installation. Hybrid role with collaboration across production, operations and project teams.

Requirements include a BS in mechanical engineering and 5+ years of tool design experience; proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software is essential. Experience in piping, hydraulics or electromechanical systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of tool and/or equipment design.
• Experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software to develop product designs.
• Prior experience in piping system design and/or field experience with piping systems is desirable.
• Hydraulics and electromechanical experience are desirable.
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical tools and equipment for plastic piping system installation.
• Perform FEA and DFMEA.
• Prototype and test designs; apply DFM principles.
• Create and maintain GD&T drawings, BOMs, and routings.
• Oversee product lifecycle and ECO process for relevant products.
• Support production, product management, sales, and customers as required.
• Collaborate with product management to reduce costs and enhance performance.
