Placements24 is seeking a Process Engineer for a hybrid role in Randburg, Gauteng. The role focuses on improving chemical manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety, and supporting equipment start-up and scale-up.

The ideal candidate has a Chemical Engineering degree and 3-5 years of process engineering experience, with strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, plus knowledge of ISO standards and PSM principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 3-5 years of experience in a process engineering role within the chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical unit operations and process principles.
• Experience with process simulation software is beneficial.
• Proficiency in data analysis and problem-solving techniques.
• Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with ISO quality standards.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze plant operations to identify areas for process improvement.
• Develop and implement solutions to enhance process efficiency, yield, and throughput.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Assist in the design and scale-up of new processes or process modifications.
• Prepare process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and SOPs.
• Conduct PHAs and ensure safety compliance.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and R&D teams.
• Support commissioning and start-up of new equipment and processes.
• Maintain process data and generate regular performance reports.
• Stay current with advancements in chemical engineering and process technology.
