Job summary

Air Products seeks a Process Controls Engineer for the Baton Rouge/Geismar area, offering hybrid work options and a focus on DCS, SIS, PLC automation and lifecycle support. You will work with regional engineers and operations staff to ensure safe, efficient plant operation.

The role emphasizes improving reliability, cyber security, and cost reductions while supporting capital projects and alignment with engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Chemical/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 10+ years of experience in process automation systems and/or instrumentation engineering.
• Experience with DCS/PLC and strong instrumentation knowledge.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity as it relates to industrial control systems.
• Familiarity with safety instrumented systems and mechanical integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide process control systems engineering support for production facilities in Baton Rouge/Geismar, LA.
• Lead/participate in improvement projects related to DCS & SIS systems.
• Oversee lifecycle support of control systems including programming, maintenance, and migrations.
• Address instrumentation and automation obsolescence and document changes.
• Collaborate with I&E technicians and site personnel to improve reliability and safety.
