Job summary

Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. seeks a Process Controls Engineer for a hybrid role based in Baton Rouge, LA, with worksite options in nearby Geismar or Gonzales.

The role focuses on DCS, SIS, and PLC automation, providing support for capital projects and reliability improvements across HyCO facilities. The successful candidate will have hands-on control systems experience, strong instrumentation knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across operations, engineering, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• US work eligibility without sponsorship.
• Hands-on knowledge of control systems (DCS/PLC). Siemens PCS7 or ABB 800xA experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operation of control systems for safe plant operation and reliability.
• Identify and support improvement projects related to DCS & SIS systems.
• Plan and maintain lifecycle of control systems, including programming, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Coordinate with I&E technicians and site operations for instrument-related fixes.
