Job summary

Vanguard seeks a Private Asset Valuation Specialist to lead detailed valuation analyses for private asset investments and to develop and maintain valuation models. You will prepare governance and audit materials and partner with internal stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate valuation outcomes.

You will help build and refine processes, controls, and capabilities that support Vanguard’s private asset valuation framework, contribute to cross-functional initiatives, and support ongoing governance

Qualifications

• 3+ years valuation consulting or 5+ years related audit/valuation/transaction services.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or similar.
• Strong understanding of valuation methodologies and financial modeling.
• Proficiency in Excel and building/maintaining financial models.
• Familiarity with private equity or illiquid asset valuations.
• CFA/CPA designation progress is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs valuation reviews of private equity and other private assets with financial models.
• Provides feedback to external valuation providers and stakeholders.
• Analyzes statements, docs, and market data to support valuations.
• Prepares materials for governance, audits, and internal committees.
• Oversees valuation deliverables and supports operational data requests.
• Partners with investment, accounting, and finance teams on inputs.
• Supports governance processes, controls, and reporting frameworks.
• Assists onboarding new portfolio investments and ensures model integrity.
• Communicates progress and risks to senior stakeholders.
• Contributes to development of valuation processes and tools.
