The role supports valuation oversight across fund structures, delivering end-to-end valuation work, strategy execution, and control enhancements. The candidate will interact with auditors and pricing vendors, applying strong quantitative skills and independent judgment in complex scenarios.

Qualifications

  • Proven expertise in valuation methodologies and corporate actions.
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives and complex valuation models.
  • Familiarity with SEC Rule 2a-5 and UCITS frameworks is a plus.
  • Experience coordinating with auditors and third-party providers.

Responsibilities

  • Execute the valuation function end-to-end, including valuation committee materials.
  • Define and execute the valuation strategy and operating model.
  • Oversee daily and periodic valuation activities, including complex positions and pricing.
  • Apply independent technical judgment to valuation methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and robust controls.
  • Oversee pricing vendors and third-party service providers.
  • Identify valuation risks and implement control enhancements.
  • Collaborate with auditors on valuation matters and reviews.
  • Design and oversee complex valuation models aligned with industry practices.

Company Overview:

A global investment management firm with over $200 billion in assets under management, known for its systematic, research-driven approach, is seeking an Associate to join its Security Valuation group. This role will support the valuation oversight function across various fund structures.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute the valuation function end-to-end, including valuation committee materials and support of fair value determinations.
  • Define and execute the valuation strategy and operating model, driving process enhancements and control improvements.
  • Oversee daily and periodic valuation activities, including evaluating complex positions and challenging third-party pricing.
  • Apply independent technical judgment to evaluate valuation methodologies and support well-reasoned valuation conclusions.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining a robust control and documentation framework.
  • Oversee pricing vendors and third-party service providers, ensuring quality and transparency.
  • Identify valuation risks and process gaps, implementing enhancements to strengthen controls.
  • Work with auditors on valuation matters, supporting audits and reviewing methodologies.
  • Design and oversee complex valuation models, ensuring alignment with industry practices.
Qualifications:
  • Deep technical expertise in valuation methodologies and strong understanding of corporate actions.
  • Strong knowledge of derivatives and experience with complex valuation models.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including SEC Rule 2a-5 and UCITS frameworks.
  • Ability to operate independently and make well-reasoned decisions in complex scenarios.
  • Experience interacting with auditors and third-party service providers.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Excel, Python, Bloomberg, DataScope, S&P Derivative Studio/PV, FundRun.
Compensation:

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000, Plus Bonus
