Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, seeks a Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer in Hybrid in Wilsonville, OR. You will improve design methods, mentor teams, ensure DO-178 and regulatory requirements are met, and prevent defects before production.

You will advise on quality trends, perform root-cause analysis, lead corrective actions, and guide engineering design, development, and certification processes to deliver high-quality aerospace products.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 8+ years of experience, or advanced degree and 5+ years.
• Experience with software development processes.
• Experience in engineering development lifecycles.
• Familiarity with regulatory agencies in aerospace.
• Strong mentoring or leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Assure new developments meet customer, company, DO-178 and regulatory requirements.
• Audit engineering teams for compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Use quality tools like Root Cause Analysis and Variation Reduction; analyze trends.
• Assist transition to production and resolve D&D quality issues.
• Ensure project plans reflect lessons learned.
• Lead or mentor project teams.
